Opening Weekend!

Iridescent Batik Studio San Jose is here!

Join us for our opening weekend Saturday & Sunday December 6th & 7th! We have a variety of workshops to choose from, including Batik Stamping, Kids Batik Painting, Batik Wood, and Batik Painting. Come learn all about the art of batik and unleash your creativity.

Small bites will also be provided, so you can enjoy a snack while you create. Watch out for our homemade Nasi Lemak though - it's spicy!

Iridescent Batik Studio San Jose is in collaboration with Get Together Preschool, so feel free to bring the kids along for a fun day of Batik!

Batik Stamping

Inspired by the rich batik heritage of Malaysia and Indonesia, this workshop will introduce you to the art of batik stamping using traditional copper stamps and batik paper stamps.

You'll pick from a selection of batik stamps provided and create your own unique designs on a cotton tote bag, followed by easy batik coloring techniques to bring your stamped patterns to life.

At the end of the workshop, you'll take home your very own batik-stamped tote bag, handmade by you!

This special session features a festive Christmas-themed batik painting activity.

Perfect for children ages 4 to 9, this workshop will guide them through creating their own artwork on an 8" x 8" batik fabric.

Batik Wood

Join us for a 1.5-hour Traditional Batik Wood Workshop!

Inspired by authentic Indonesian craftsmanship, this workshop offers a hands-on experience where you'll create your own mahogany batik wood coaster.

We will guide you through the fundamentals of batik wood art, including the proper use of the tjanting. You'll also learn wood dyeing techniques to enhance the details and beauty of your design.

At the end of the workshop, you'll take home your very own beautifully crafted batik wood coaster!

Batik waxing process

Join us for a Traditional Batik Tulis & Batik Lukis Workshop!

Inspired by the rich batik heritage of Malaysia and Indonesia, this workshop introduces you to the art of both batik tulis (hand-drawn batik) and batik lukis (batik painting).

You'll learn the essential fundamentals of batik, including the proper use of the tjanting for waxing. We will also guide you through various coloring techniques to bring out the intricate details and beauty of your design.

All materials are provided — including wax, tjanting, dyes, and cotton fabric.

Come experience the timeless art of batik and bring home your own beautiful creation!
